Locum Tenens Physician Assistant - Psychiatry Needed in IL

Job Description

We are seeking a Psychiatry Physician Assistant for an urgent 18-day assignment in Illinois, starting Apr 27, 2026. This role involves seeing ongoing patients in between permanent providers, providing outpatient counseling services for various mental health illnesses, with the support of an RN for note-taking. The schedule is Monday to Thursday, 8 AM to 4 PM, and Friday, 9 AM to 3 PM.

Responsibilities and Duties

• See ongoing patients in between permanent providers being on staff.
• Review, edit, and sign off on notes taken by an RN during sessions.
• Provide outpatient counseling services for patients with severe and persistent mental health illnesses, including depression, anxiety, trauma, family life stressors, and anger issues.
• Offer services to adults, youth, and families as deemed appropriate.
