Job Description

Our client in Missouri is seeking a highly skilled Psychiatrist for a 125-day assignment beginning Jun 1, 2026. This vital role involves 8-hour shifts, overseeing a patient panel directly and supervising an APRN within a state forensic inpatient facility. The Psychiatrist will manage severely mentally ill patients with complex diagnoses, providing essential long-term care.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Oversee a panel of 15 patients directly.
• Supervise an APRN responsible for 10 additional patients.
• Provide care on the 3 East unit within a state forensic inpatient facility.
• Manage a patient population consisting of severely mentally ill individuals.
• Address common diagnoses including Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder, Mood Disorders, Personality Disorders, Substance Abuse Disorders, and Paraphilia.
• Handle cases involving NGRI and SVP status, which require court-ordered conditional release.
• Manage an average of three admissions and discharges per week.
• Provide long-term care, with patient average lengths of stay spanning years.
