Whether you’re an avid camper, a skiing enthusiast, or just an appreciator of all the beauty the Earth has to offer, New Hampshire is a quiet haven for those who love spending time in nature. But the Granite State offers much more than just wide-ranging forests and snow capped mountains—the state is home to many up-and-coming cities, such as Keene, NH, where one of our nine offices is located. We’re always on the lookout for new, hard-working people to join our team—read on to learn more about why you should consider working in Keene!

1. Easy Access to the Rest of New England

Keene, NH is located in the southwestern part of the Granite State, putting it in relatively close proximity to the rest of New England. While Keene itself is a great place to live and work, it’s within driving distance to some of the more popular places in the Northeast:

  • Keene, NH to Boston, MA: 2 hours by car, approx. 97 miles
  • Keene, NH to Manchester, NH: 1 hour and 10 minutes by car, approx. 66 miles
  • Keene, NH to Brattleboro, VT: 34 minutes by car, approx. 18 miles
  • Keene, NH to Providence, RI: 2 hours and 13 minutes by car, approx. 106 miles
  • Keene, NH to Kittery, ME: 1 hour and 47 minutes by car, approx. 110 miles
  • Keene, NH to Hartford, CT: 2 hours by car, approx. 97 miles

With this in mind, it’s clear that if you work in or live near Keene, NH, you’ll have plenty of options nearby for weekend trips with family and friends.

2. Outdoor Activities Galore

As mentioned earlier, New Hampshire is a haven for those who love the outdoors. In the state’s north lies the White Mountain National Forest, a nearly 800,000 acre preserve full of lakes, rivers, and wildlife that’s perfect for those who love to backpack, hike, or camp.

Avid skiers and snowboarders will also be pleased to learn that New Hampshire is known for its many ski mountains, such as Cannon Mountain in Franconia or Bretton Woods, near Mount Washington. These ski resorts are about two hours away from Keene, but there are also closer options: Brattleboro Ski Hill offers lift tickets starting at $5 and is only 30 minutes away.

You don’t need to take a trip north of Keene to experience all the natural wonders that New Hampshire has to offer. Just a five minute walk away from our office is the Ashuelot River Park, a 157-acre wooded area that offers trails and bike paths for exercise or a brisk lunch walk.

3. A Bustling, Small City

There’s definitely a lot of places of interest surrounding Keene, NH, but let’s talk about the city itself. While it boasts a population of only around 23,000, Keene has a bustling culture of small businesses.

In fact, there are over 15 different restaurants, coffee shops, and breweries within a 10-minute walk from our office, which means finding a place for lunch or dinner and drinks after work is a breeze.

Keene is also home to some great entertainment options, such as the Colonial Theatre, which often hosts film screenings, concerts, and plays.

4. Great Office Amenities

Last, but not least on the list of great reasons to work in Keene, NH is that our office is full of amenities that will enhance your day-to-day work experience.
