Job Description

Our client in Ohio is actively seeking a Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner for a 60-day assignment starting Sep 3, 2026. This role involves a dynamic schedule encompassing both day rounding and night call shifts, providing comprehensive care across routine and complex cardiothoracic procedures, including VATS and endoscopic vein harvesting.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform 12-hour night call or day rounding shifts.
  • Manage 7 AM to 5 PM rounding or 5 PM to 7 AM call shifts.
  • Maintain a 30-minute proximity to the hospital for call shifts if local, or utilize provided nearby hotel accommodation.
  • Handle most calls remotely, with an approximate 7% chance of being called in for in-person attendance.
  • Expect to be called in roughly once every 10 shifts.
  • Provide care for routine cardiothoracic cases, including CABG, valves, complex aorta, lobectomy cases, and VATS.
  • Address occasional ECMO cases, but without advanced heart failure, VAD, or transplant cases.
  • Perform vein harvesting, utilizing endoscopic techniques with Maquet Hemopro 2.
