Job Description

We are seeking a Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner for a 152-day assignment in Tennessee, starting Jun 15, 2026. The role involves assisting in complex cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures, including CABG and open heart surgeries, valve repair/replacement, and EVH/vein harvesting, along with comprehensive pre- and post-operative critical care management in the CV ICU, seeing approximately 10 patients per shift.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist in CABG and open heart surgeries, valve repair/replacement, EVH/vein harvesting, SFA exposure, and sternotomy closure.
  • Perform critical care management in the CV ICU.
  • Provide comprehensive pre- and post-operative care.
  • Manage Impella devices.
  • Perform endoscopic radial artery harvesting.
  • Execute chest tube placement, arterial/venous sheath placement, and central venous line placement.
  • Manage approximately 10 patient encounters per shift.


Additional Information

  • EMR System: Cerner
  • Fellowship 2 required.
  • Experience as a first assistant in Cardiovascular and Thoracic surgical procedures is required.
