Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Family Practice Nurse Practitioner for a 364-day assignment in Oregon, starting May 25, 2026. Our client requires a professional who can conduct physical examinations, develop comprehensive treatment plans, monitor patient progress, and provide direct patient care. This role involves managing a diverse inmate population with acute and chronic conditions, working shifts from 6a-4:30p.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Conduct physical examinations, develop treatment plans, and monitor patient progress.
  • Administer medications and provide clear instructions to patients.
  • Document patient health, including vital signs and medical histories.
  • Provide direct patient care, triage needs, assess patients, develop care plans, and coordinate services.
  • Educate patients on preventative care, healthy lifestyle choices, and substance abuse prevention.
  • Adhere to correctional facility security protocols and collaborate with correctional officers and healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate medical records, document treatment plans, and report relevant information.
  • Conduct rounds and evaluate patients returning from off-site treatment.
  • Admit and discharge patients from the facility.
  • Manage a male and female inmate population, addressing acute and chronic conditions such as asthma, hypertension, and diabetes.
  • Handle medical emergencies, provide first aid, and arrange timely transport to healthcare facilities as needed.
