Job Description

We are seeking a Family Practice Physician Assistant for a 60-day assignment in California, starting May 4, 2026. This role involves performing routine physical exams, assessing and managing acute and chronic conditions, ordering diagnostics, prescribing medications, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, with shifts typically running from 8a-5p.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform routine physical exams, assess acute and chronic conditions, and manage ongoing treatment plans
  • Order and interpret labs/diagnostics; prescribe medications and perform minor procedures
  • Manage admissions, transfers, and discharges with accurate and timely documentation
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and therapy teams on individualized care plans
  • Educate residents and families on treatment plans, medications, and preventative care
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with facility standards
  • Chronic disease management: diabetes, hypertension, COPD, CHF
  • Post-acute and rehab care following hospitalization or surgery
  • Geriatric care and management of complex comorbidities
  • Medication management and polypharmacy oversight
  • Minor bedside procedures (wound care, basic procedures depending on scope)
  • Functional decline, mobility issues, and ADL-related care planning
