Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Medical Oncologist Physician for a 40-day locum tenens assignment in Missouri, beginning Jun 22, 2026. This role involves 8-hour day shifts, primarily focused on clinic and inpatient rounding with an anticipated patient load of 10-20 per day. Our client requires a dedicated professional to manage a diverse range of medical oncology and hematology cases.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform clinic and inpatient rounding, managing 10-20 patients per day.
  • Manage a variety of medical oncology and hematology cases, including Breast, Lung (NSCLC, SCLC), Colorectal, Prostate, Pancreatic, Head & Neck, Melanoma & other skin cancers.
  • Address conditions such as Sickle Cell Anemia, Coagulopathies, and Benign Hematology.
  • Order and manage toxicities related to Chemotherapy (IV/Oral), Immunotherapy (Keytruda, Opdivo), Targeted Therapy (TKIs, CDK4/6 inhibitors), and Hormonal Therapy (tamoxifen, aromatase inhibitors).
  • Administer Blood Transfusions and Growth Factor Support (Neulasta, Epogen).
  • Provide Chemo supervision and orders.
  • Perform Bone marrow Biopsies/aspirations.
  • Manage oncologic emergencies including tumor lysis syndrome, spinal cord compression, and neutropenic fever.
  • Coordinate genetic testing and counseling.
