Locum Tenens Physician - Optometrist Needed in Montana

We are seeking a skilled Optometrist for a 120-day assignment in Montana. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., focusing on comprehensive optometric care for patients of all ages. You will handle a variety of cases, from routine exams to managing urgent issues, post-operative care, and various ocular conditions.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide primary optometric care for patients ranging from infant to elder.
• Manage urgent ocular issues requiring medical or therapeutic intervention.
• Address various conditions including traumas, post-operative care, glaucoma, macular degeneration, uveitis, and diabetic retinopathy.
• Perform procedures such as lash epilation, punctual dilation and irrigation, corneal and conjunctival foreign body removals, and application of bandage contact lenses or pressure patches.
• Conduct appointments lasting 15-45 minutes, tailored to the patient's age and specific case.

• Patient Volume: 10-14 patients per day, with appointment lengths varying from 15-45 minutes.
• LOA: 120 Days
• Staffing Mix: The current team includes one eye doctor, one receptionist, and one tech in optical. The Optometrist is responsible for all aspects of patient exams, including calling patients back, performing acuities, lensometry, IOP checks, field testing, OCT, optos, autorefraction, and FDT. There is no ophthalmology support onsite, with the nearest specialist over 100 miles away.
