Job Description

We are actively seeking a dedicated Cardiovascular & Thoracic Nurse Practitioner for a 140-day assignment with our client in Ohio, commencing May 1, 2026. This dynamic role requires flexibility for either 12-hour night call or day rounding shifts, focusing on a comprehensive range of routine cardiothoracic cases such as CABG, valves, complex aorta procedures, and vein harvesting.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide 12-hour night call coverage or day rounding shifts.
  • Perform day rounding shifts from 7a-5p or call shifts from 6pm-6am.
  • Manage routine cardiothoracic cases, including CABG, valves, complex aorta, lobectomy cases, and VATS.
  • Address occasional ECMO cases, but no further advanced heart failure, VAD, or transplants.
  • Perform vein harvesting, utilizing endoscopic techniques with Maquet Hemopro 2.
  • Handle most call-related inquiries over the phone.
  • Be available within a 30-minute range from the hospital for call shifts if local; otherwise, accommodations in a nearby hotel will be provided.
  • Expect an approximate 7% chance of being called in during a shift.
  • Anticipate being called in roughly once for every 10 shifts worked.
