Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Psychiatrist for a 40-day locum tenens assignment in Tennessee, starting May 18, 2026. This role involves a flexible schedule of 15-20 hours per week, where you will manage a patient panel, provide clinical oversight for staff, and provide care for high-acuity adult patients within a trauma-informed framework. The program emphasizes a de-prescribing focus and a high relational model.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manage a patient panel of up to 26 adults with severe trauma and personality disorders.
  • Provide clinical oversight for a multidisciplinary team.
  • Utilize a Trauma-Informed Framework, employing high-touch therapeutic modalities including Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Psychodrama.
  • Support clients in medication management, often with the specific intent of tapering off medications to facilitate deeper therapeutic work.
  • Actively engage as a visible, integrated part of the community, fostering a high relational model of care.
  • Collaborate closely with primary therapists and core groups to align medical care with therapeutic trajectories.
  • Serve as the medical anchor for the multidisciplinary treatment team, addressing complex diagnostic pictures and managing crises.
