Job Description

Our client in Ohio is seeking a dedicated Physician - Gastroenterologist for a 41-day assignment beginning Nov 23, 2026. This role involves a Monday through Friday schedule from 7:30am to 3:15pm, complemented by weekday and weekend call. The selected Physician will perform a range of procedures including upper and lower GI endoscopies, biopsies, foreign body removals, and polyp excisions, managing an average of 12-15 cases daily.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform upper GI endoscopy with biopsy, foreign body removal, fulguration of bleeder (cautery vs. laser), and injection of varices.
  • Conduct small bowel biopsies.
  • Execute lower GI endoscopy, flexible and rigid sigmoidoscopy, and colonoscopy with biopsy and polyp excision.
  • Manage the insertion and ongoing care of Sengstaken/Blakemore tubes.
  • Address general GI cases, EGDs, EGDs with banding, and cases involving foreign bodies and dilations.
  • Maintain a case load of 12-15 procedures per shift, with potential for additional add-ons.
  • Adhere to a Monday-Friday schedule from 7:30am-3:15pm, with orientation commencing at 7am.
  • Participate in weekday call from 7pm-7am and weekend call as scheduled.
