Job Description

Our client is seeking a Gastroenterology Physician Assistant for a 120-day assignment in New York, starting Jul 6, 2026. This role involves managing complex diagnostic problems, providing medical and emergency interventions, and monitoring medications. The schedule is a standard 5-day work week, from 8:00 to 17:00, with a focus on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in gastroenterology.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Refer complex and high-priority cases to collaborating physicians for complicated diagnostic problems, serious illness, complicated therapeutic issues, and re-evaluation of chronic conditions.
  • Provide appropriate medical and emergency interventions; prescribe and monitor medications relevant to diagnoses.
  • Evaluate medical problems of patients in the Gastroenterology/Internal Medicine practice setting and request specialist consultations as indicated.
  • Provide education to patients and families about preventive care, medical issues, and prescribed treatments.
  • Document all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatments, outcomes, education, referrals, and consultations.
  • Facilitate evaluation of records by physicians, peers, and quality standards according to protocols.
