Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Hospitalist Physician for an 11-day assignment in Montana, starting Jun 11, 2026. This vital role involves a mixed schedule of day and night shifts, focusing on a nocturnist/hospitalist capacity, covering two medical-surgical units and an open ICU. The physician will manage a varied patient census, providing critical care and admissions in a dynamic hospital environment.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Function as a Hospitalist/Nocturnist, managing care across two medical-surgical units, and an open ICU.
  • Cover the entire hospital during nocturnist shifts, with an average census of 30-35 patients.
  • Perform rounding on approximately 15 patients during day shifts.
  • Cross-cover patients during nocturnist shifts, including those in the ICU.
  • Manage typical admission volumes of 3-5 patients per night, with occasional surges to 8-10.
  • Respond to emergencies and consult specialists as needed, including GI for GI Bleeds.
  • Comfortably manage ICU-level patients at night, with CVT Surgeon support available for emergencies.
  • No OB/L&D responsibilities and rarely admit pediatric patients, with 24/7 peds call available.
  • The facility is not a trauma center.


Additional Information

  • Board Certification in Hospital Medicine is required.
  • Experience with Meditech EHR is preferred.
  • Schedule includes specific shifts: Jun 11 - 14 from 7pm - 7am; Jun 24 - 30 from 7am - 7pm.
