Job Description

We are seeking an Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner for a 2-day assignment in New Mexico, starting Jun 4, 2026. This role involves evaluating and treating acute illnesses and minor injuries, performing various procedures like laceration repair and splinting, and managing common urgent care conditions during shifts from 7:30a to 7:30p.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Evaluate and treat acute illnesses and minor injuries, including management of conditions like URI, flu, COVID, UTI, and orthopedic injuries.
  • Perform a variety of procedures such as laceration repair, wound management, splinting, treatment of minor fractures/sprains, incision and drainage of abscesses, and foreign body removal.
  • Administer, dispense, and prescribe medications, including pediatric dose calculation.
  • Conduct physicals and occupational medicine evaluations, including workers’ compensation cases.
  • Interpret EKGs, labs, and other diagnostic studies, and order imaging as needed.
  • Document patient encounters in the EMR.
  • Provide patient education and discharge instructions.
  • Collaborate with clinic staff to ensure efficient patient flow.
  • Perform basic vitals, pelvic exams, and emergency condition screening for ages 0-5 months.
  • Conduct point-of-care lab testing and provide respiratory treatments (nebulizers).
