Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Anesthetist for a 20-day locum tenens assignment in California, commencing Feb 14, 2026. This role involves providing comprehensive anesthesia care across various surgical services, including cardiology, general surgery, orthopedics, and a busy labor and delivery unit. You will work flexible 8, 10, or 12+ hour shifts, with a commitment to not exceeding 24-hour shifts. The position also includes supporting care for healthy pediatric patients and limited out-of-OR procedures at both the main hospital and a satellite surgery center.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide comprehensive anesthesia services across ORs in the main hospital and ORs in a freestanding surgery center.
  • Support a moderately busy Labor and Delivery service.
  • Perform anesthesia for surgical services including Cardiology (pacemakers), Dental, HNS, General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Podiatry, and Urology. No Neuro, Spine, or Open Heart cases are required.
  • Administer anesthesia for healthy pediatric patients.
  • Provide limited support for Interventional Radiology and various out-of-OR procedures.
  • Work shifts available in 8, 10, and 12+ hour durations.
  • Adhere to a schedule with no cap on total hours or days, ensuring no shifts exceed 24 hours.


Additional Information

  • Board Certification in Anesthesiology is required.
  • Experience with Epic EMR system preferred.
