Job Description

We are seeking a Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant for a 120-day assignment in Missouri, commencing May 4, 2026. This role involves 12-hour day shifts focusing on comprehensive post-operative care for cardiac surgery patients within a CTS Stepdown unit. Key responsibilities include removing pacing wires, chest tubes, and drains, along with care coordination, consults, admissions, and discharges, managing an average of 10-18 patients daily.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform removal of pacing wires
  • Perform removal of chest tubes
  • Perform removal of drains
  • Provide care coordination
  • Conduct new consults and follow-up consults
  • Manage occasional admissions
  • Handle patient discharges
  • Provide post-operative care for cardiac surgery patients
  • Manage patients with pacemakers
  • See 10-18 patients per day

  • Required Board Certifications: Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (ACNP-BC)
