Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant - Surgery - Cardiothoracic for a 2-day assignment in Missouri, commencing on Apr 4, 2026. This role involves 12-hour day shifts (6A-6:30P) and focuses on post-operative cardiac care, including removing pacing wires, chest tubes, and drains, along with care coordination, new and follow-up consults, occasional admissions, and patient discharges. The ideal candidate will be proficient in managing post-op cardiac surgery patients and comfortable with pacemakers.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Work 12-hour day shifts, typically 6A-6:30P
  • Perform removal of pacing wires
  • Perform removal of chest tubes
  • Perform removal of drains
  • Provide care coordination
  • Conduct new and follow-up consultations
  • Handle occasional patient admissions
  • Manage patient discharges
  • Ensure comfort and expertise in post-operative care for cardiac surgery patients
  • Demonstrate comfort and expertise with pacemakers
  • Manage a patient volume of 10-18 patients per day
