Locum Tenens Physician Assistant - Cardiology Critical Care Needed in PA

Job Description

We are seeking a Cardiology Critical Care Physician Assistant for a 120-day locum tenens assignment in Pennsylvania, starting Dec 1, 2025. This role features 13-hour shifts, with a rotating schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays. The ideal candidate will have experience in a critical care cardiac ICU setting and a strong background in advanced cardiac life support.

• Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays; must be flexible regarding days worked; no guaranteed hours; shifts are 13 hours each

Responsibilities and Duties

• Manage HVI CCU patients under the guidance of an Intensivist
• Conduct daily patient rounding and management
• Enter orders, manage admissions, and oversee post-operative care
• Perform procedures such as arterial lines, central lines, swan ganz catheter insertion, and IABP removal
• Manage advanced cardiac support including VA & VV ECMO, Impella, LVAD, and cardiac transplant cases

Additional Information

• Must have a current Pennsylvania Physician Assistant license
• Required certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Board certification in Critical Care Medicine required
• Previous experience in a critical care cardiac ICU is essential
• Flexibility with scheduling is necessary to meet patient care needs
