Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Cardiology Critical Care Physician Assistant for a 70-day locum tenens assignment in West Virginia. This opportunity begins on Dec 1, 2025, and offers a 7 on/7 off or 14 on/14 off schedule with 13-14 hour night shifts. You will join a step down ICU unit managing cardiac surgery and critical care patients.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide advanced care to patients in a 32-bed step down ICU, including 10–15 cardiac surgery cases
  • Perform assessments, develop care plans, and implement interventions in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Manage acute and chronic cardiac and critical care conditions
  • Respond to emergencies and rapidly changing patient conditions
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all patient care activities
  • Adhere to hospital protocols and standards for patient safety

Additional Information

  • Active West Virginia PA license required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required
  • Previous experience in step down ICU and cardiac surgery patient management strongly preferred
