Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner for a 90-day locum tenens assignment in Pennsylvania. This opportunity begins on Mar 2, 2026, and features a full-time schedule with day shifts, primarily Monday through Friday, with possible call coverage during weeknights and 24-hour call on weekends. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of inpatient and outpatient experience, including vein harvesting and operating room assistance.

  • Schedule: Full-time, primarily Monday–Friday, 7:30am–4:00pm; potential for weeknight and weekend call

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Perform procedures including CABG, AVR, MVR, TVR, Convergence, wire removal, myxoma removal, and pericardial window
  • Participate in ICU rounding, vein harvesting, and first assist in the operating room
  • Conduct hospital consults and participate in outpatient clinic work
  • Manage wound checks and care for pre- and post-operative patients
  • Perform yearly aneurysm evaluations, wound vac placement, and suture/staple removal
  • Conduct telephone visits for aneurysm evaluations
  • Coordinate video visits with thoracic surgeons
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a Level III trauma center

Additional Information
  • Minimum 2 years of nurse practitioner experience required
  • Inpatient and outpatient experience preferred
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required
  • Board certification preferred
  • Must be licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in Pennsylvania
