Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Surgery - Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant for a 9-day locum tenens assignment in Arkansas. This opportunity begins on Dec 22, 2025, and features 24-hour call shifts with OR time from 7 AM to 12 PM and service coverage from 7 AM to 5 PM. The ideal candidate will have strong first assist skills, including endoscopic vein harvesting and experience with cardiac cases such as CABG, valve surgery, and procedures involving the great vessels.

Responsibilities and Duties

• First assist in cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including CABG, valve surgeries, and great vessel operations
• Perform endoscopic vein harvesting
• Provide intraoperative support and post-operative care
• Respond to 24-hour call requirements as scheduled
• Collaborate with the surgical team to deliver high-quality patient care

Additional Information

• Minimum 3 years of first assist experience required
• Prior experience in a Trauma center is highly desirable
• Must have active AR licensure
• Required certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA)
