We are seeking an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant for a high-acuity adult inpatient locum tenens assignment in California. This opportunity begins on Mar 2, 2026, with a 120-day contract, offering full-time Monday to Friday shifts, 8 am to 5 pm, and regular weekday and weekend call coverage. The role is fully inpatient with no clinic responsibilities, ideal for providers skilled in independent inpatient management.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Provide comprehensive inpatient and operative care on a high-volume, high-acuity adult cardiothoracic surgery service
  • Independently manage patients across OR, ICU, stepdown, and telemetry floors
  • Participate in all aspects of adult CT surgery patient care, excluding clinic-based duties
  • Address all types of cases as required for the assignment and per client specifications
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a tertiary/quaternary care environment
  • Respond to consults, admit, and manage patients throughout their hospital course
  • Take primary responsibility for timely and thorough documentation of all clinical activities

Additional Information
  • Over 1 year of full-time experience as a Physician Assistant in adult cardiothoracic surgery required
  • Independent inpatient management experience (not clinic-heavy or observational roles) is essential
  • Active California PA license, current NCCPA certification, and DEA (schedule II-V) required
  • Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) credential required
