Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant for a 120-day locum tenens assignment in Ohio, starting Jan 30, 2026. This advanced practice provider will work 7am to 3:30pm shifts, participate in 24-hour call, and handle weekend and holiday rounding.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Provide first and second assist in cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures, including robotic thoracic surgery, VATS, open thoracotomy, CABG, AVR, MVR, ascending aneurysms, and dissections (no robotic for cardiac)
  • Harvest saphenous vein endoscopically with Hemopro; open radial and/or endoradial harvesting a plus
  • Manage ICU and step-down patients—both cardiac and thoracic
  • Round on inpatients during weekends and holidays
  • Cover multiple hospitals as needed
  • Utilize EPIC for electronic medical records

Additional Information
  • Active PA license in Ohio required; no licensing support available
  • Clean background required; NPDB report at presentation
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), DEA required
  • Board certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery required
  • Experience in acute care, cardiac, and thoracic surgery essential
