Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant for a 84-day locum tenens assignment in Pennsylvania, starting Jan 5, 2026. This role is based in the cardiovascular and cardiothoracic ICU and step-down unit, with night shifts (6:30pm-7:30am) and flexible scheduling options, including 7 on/7 off or 4 shifts per week.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Manage patients in cardiovascular and cardiothoracic ICU and step-down units
  • Perform procedures including balloon pumps, central lines, and chest tubes
  • Oversee admissions, discharges, and consults
  • No OR/first assist responsibilities
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Additional Information
  • Must have active Physician Assistant license in Pennsylvania
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
  • Experience in cardiovascular/cardiothoracic critical care essential; no new graduates
  • Familiarity with Epic EMR system preferred
