Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Surgery - Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant for a 90-day locum tenens assignment in Pennsylvania beginning Mar 2, 2026. This full-time role offers day shifts Monday through Friday, with potential weeknight and weekend call coverage. The position involves both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, with a strong emphasis on vein harvesting and operating room first assist experience.

• Provider Type Needed: Surgery - Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant
• Schedule: Primarily Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm; possible weeknight and 24-hour weekend call coverage

Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform required procedures including CABG, AVR, MVR, TVR, Convergence, wire removal, myxoma removal, and pericardial window
• Round in ICU settings
• Provide vein harvesting and serve as first assist in the operating room
• Conduct hospital consults and outpatient clinic visits
• Manage wound checks, pre- and post-operative patients, and yearly aneurysm evaluations
• Place wound vacs and remove sutures/staples
• Conduct telephone visits for aneurysm evaluations
• Coordinate video consultations with thoracic surgeons
• Support care in a Level III trauma center

Additional Information

• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings preferred
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Board certification status: Unknown
