Job Description

We are seeking a board-certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon for a 19-day locum tenens assignment in Ohio starting Mar 19, 2026. This opportunity involves 24-hour beeper call shifts covering a variety of advanced cardiothoracic and vascular procedures at a trauma level 3, pediatric level 2 facility. The assignment offers a series of scheduled blocks through June.

  • Schedule: 24-hour beeper call with 4 grat hours; scheduled blocks include Mar 20-22 (ends Mar 23 at 7am), Apr 25-26 (ends Apr 27 at 7am), May 8-17 (ends May 18 at 7am), Jun 11-14 (ends Jun 15 at 7am)

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Perform general cardiovascular and thoracic surgery (open and endoscopic)
  • Conduct coronary artery bypass surgery (on pump and off pump)
  • Manage congenital defect repairs (ASD, VSD, PFO, etc.)
  • Perform valvular repair and replacement, aneurysm repair (cardiac, aorto-thoracic)
  • Conduct lung resections (including VATs), chest wall or pleural procedures, esophagus and diaphragm surgeries
  • Place permanent pacemakers, AICDs, left ventricular assist devices, TAVR, and CABG
  • Manage ventilators and perform bronchoscopy
  • Evaluate and manage acute volume and blood pressure issues
  • Insert central lines, arterial lines, PA catheters, and IABP
  • Perform general vascular surgery (open and endovascular), including aorto-abdominal aneurysm repair and bypass procedures (aorto-femoral/iliac, fem-pop)
  • Conduct endarterectomy (carotid, renal) and subclavian steal procedures

Additional Information
  • Board certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery required
  • Must be licensed in Ohio
  • Fellowship required
  • Required certifications: ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS
  • Estimated credentialing timeframe: 40 days
