Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Surgery - Cardiovascular & Thoracic Nurse Practitioner for a 42-day locum tenens assignment in Indiana. This opportunity begins on Jan 19, 2026, featuring a 7 on 7 off night shift schedule from 7p-7a. The ideal candidate is comfortable managing cases and procedures in both ICU and stepdown settings, and will provide critical inpatient support by conducting daily rounds, new consults, and patient discharges.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Perform daily rounding on all inpatients in ICU and stepdown units
  • Evaluate new consults as assigned
  • Manage patient discharges
  • See an average of 10-15 patients daily; total patient census typically 20-30
  • Deliver care for cardiovascular and thoracic surgical patients
  • Document patient information and care in Cerner EMR

Additional Information
  • Active Nurse Practitioner license required in Indiana
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Must be comfortable with relevant inpatient procedures and case management
