Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner - Surgery - Cardiovascular & Thoracic for a 1-day assignment starting May 25, 2026, in Missouri. This role involves assisting in the OR and clinic setting, focusing heavily on endovascular vein harvesting, managing pre/post-op cases, and assisting with ECMO cannulations. The schedule includes 0600-1830 shifts, with daily clinic hours and weekend solo coverage with an attending available.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform duties in both OR and Clinic settings.
  • Clinic involves 4 hours each day.
  • Demonstrate strong proficiency in Endovascular Vein Harvesting (EVH).
  • Target 45 minutes to harvest a vein, with a maximum of 60 minutes.
  • Radial harvest preferred, though not a strict requirement.
  • Assist in ECMO cannulations.
  • Participate in other cases including CABG, Aortic dissection, and Impella placement and removal.
  • Note: No LVADs or transplants.
  • Manage 4-9 patients per day in the consult clinic, which is located onsite and connected to the hospital.
  • Provide documentation support for the attending physician present on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
  • Manage pre/post-operative and ECMO patients.
  • Provide solo provider coverage on weekends with attending physician availability.


Additional Information

  • Required Board Certifications: Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (ACNP-BC)
  • EMR System: Epic
  • Endovascular vein harvesting is REQUIRED.
