Job Description

We are seeking a Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner for a 64-day assignment in New Hampshire, starting May 11, 2026. This role involves comprehensive patient care across the surgical continuum, including preoperative evaluations, first assisting during various cardiovascular and thoracic procedures, and active participation in postoperative management. The schedule includes rotating call on the weekends and weekdays, with a 1:4 rotation.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Conduct H&Ps, order and interpret diagnostics, obtain consents, and prepare patients for surgery.
  • Assist in CABG, valve repairs/replacements, thoracic procedures (e.g., lobectomy, aneurysm repair), perform vein/artery harvesting, control hemostasis, close wounds, and manage chest tubes.
  • Round in ICU/step-down units, manage drains/wounds, monitor for complications, educate patients, and coordinate discharges.

  • EMR: Cerner
  • Cases: Full spectrum CVT coverage, including 100% required experience in endovascular vein harvesting and first assist for any surgical cases taken on by the program.
