Locum Tenens Nurse Practitioner - Surgery - Cardiovascular & Thoracic Needed in NH

Job Description

We are seeking a Cardiovascular & Thoracic Nurse Practitioner for a 63-day assignment in New Hampshire, starting May 11, 2026. This role involves 10-hour shifts with 24-hour weekend call, providing comprehensive care including preoperative assessments, first-assist duties in complex surgeries like CABG and valve repairs, and thorough postoperative management in ICU and step-down units.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Conduct H&Ps, order and interpret diagnostics, obtain consents, and prepare patients for surgery.
• Assist in CABG, valve repairs/replacements, thoracic procedures (e.g., lobectomy, aneurysm repair), perform vein/artery harvesting, control hemostasis, close wounds, and manage chest tubes.
• Round in ICU/step-down units, manage drains/wounds, monitor for complications, educate patients, and coordinate discharges.

Additional Information

• EMR: Cerner
• Cases: Full spectrum CVT coverage, including endovascular vein harvesting (100% required experience) and first assist for any surgical cases taken on by the program.
• Schedule: 10-hour shifts with 24-hour weekend call.
