Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner for a 16-week locum tenens assignment in Ohio. This role begins Jan 5, 2026, with day shifts from 7a-5p and a rotating call schedule. The assignment involves first assisting, vein harvesting, and rounding, with proficiency required in using the Maquet Hemopro 2 system. Candidates must have current NCCPA certification and hold valid ACLS and BLS certifications.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • First assist in cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures
  • Perform vein harvesting for bypass surgeries
  • Conduct patient rounding and post-operative care
  • Collaborate with surgical and clinical teams
  • Utilize Maquet Hemopro 2 for surgical assistance
  • Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR

Additional Information
  • Must be licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in Ohio
  • NCCPA certification required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required
  • Recent experience with Maquet Hemopro 2 is essential
  • 2-3 weeks credentialing process
