Locum Tenens Nurse Practitioner - Surgery - Cardiovascular & Thoracic Needed in VA

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Surgery - Cardiovascular & Thoracic Nurse Practitioner for a 78-day assignment in Virginia, starting Mar 16, 2026. This role involves delivering inpatient care at a Trauma Center, focusing on post-operative management of critically ill CVT surgery patients in CVICU and CV Stepdown units, with shifts typically lasting 8 or 10 hours.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Deliver care to CVT surgery patients in CVICU and CV Stepdown units.
• Perform patient assessments, develop and implement treatment plans, and manage post-operative recovery.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and perform bedside procedures within scope of practice.
• Participate in patient education and discharge planning.
• Ensure adherence to clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
