Job Description
We are seeking a Surgery - Cardiovascular & Thoracic Physician Assistant for a 130-day locum tenens assignment in Colorado starting Apr 6, 2026. This position features 8-hour day shifts, five days per week, with 7-10 call days per month (24-hour call; frequency varies) and responsibilities in the floor, OR, rounding, and consults.Job Details

Responsibilities and Duties
- Function independently to provide high quality, patient-centric care in collaboration with the healthcare team
- Deliver care across various settings and modalities, including hospital, clinic, telephone, video, or secure email when appropriate
- Gather patient history, conduct physical exams, review prior records and ancillary data, and use sound judgment and critical problem-solving skills
- Develop and monitor treatment plans, communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care team
- Provide education and counseling to patients and families to support care plans, treatment, and discharge
- Collaborate with healthcare team members, leadership, and medical staff to ensure safe patient care
- Communicate pertinent findings and information to physicians and the care team
- Assist collaborating physicians with patient management in the hospital, consistent with policies and approved Scope of Practice
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and practice metrics; document as required
- May float to other departments (within scope of competency and qualifications) as needed
- May be required to be on-call during scheduled shifts
Additional Information
- Active Colorado license required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Regular attendance and ability to work nights and/or weekends may be required
