Job Description

We are seeking a Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery Physician Assistant for a 42-day locum tenens assignment in Indiana. This opportunity begins Nov 10, 2025, and features day shifts Monday through Friday with additional call coverage, as well as weekend responsibilities. You will work alongside a dedicated team to provide high-level care for inpatients across ICU, stepdown, and consult services.

  • Schedule:
  • Monday-Friday: 6 am to 4:30 pm (Regular), 4:30 pm to 7 pm (Call)
  • Saturday-Sunday: 6 am until work is done; Call 5 pm to 7 pm

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Perform daily rounding on all inpatients, including those in the ICU and stepdown units
  • Manage new consults and coordinate care plans
  • Conduct patient discharges efficiently and accurately
  • Oversee an average daily caseload of 10-15 patients, with a total census typically between 20-30 patients
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care
  • Utilize Cerner EMR for patient documentation and workflow management

Additional Information
  • Indiana licensure required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Must be comfortable with cardiovascular and thoracic surgical cases and related procedures
