Job Description
We are seeking a Surgery - Cardiovascular & Thoracic Physician Assistant for an 84-day locum tenens assignment in Missouri, starting Mar 2, 2026. This role features a 7 on 7 off schedule, 12-hour shifts from 0600-1830, with rotation flexibility and weekend solo coverage alongside attending support.Job Details

Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide support in the operating room and clinic (clinic is 4 hours daily, duties do not include seeing patients)
- Demonstrate proficiency in endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH) with a preferred harvest time under 60 minutes
- Perform radial artery harvests (preferred, not mandatory)
- Assist in ECMO cannulations
- Participate in cases including CABG, aortic dissection, and Impella placement/removal (no LVADs or transplants)
- Manage pre- and post-operative care in collaboration with attendings
- Manage ECMO patients
- Complete documentation as the responsible Advanced Practice Provider (APP)
- Serve as the solo provider on weekends with attending support available
- Utilize Epic EMR for documentation and workflow
Additional Information
- Strong EVH proficiency and robust case logs required
- Must be licensed as a Physician Assistant in Missouri
- Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (ACNP-BC) is required
- Clinic connected to the hospital with 4-9 consults per day
