Locum Tenens Physician Assistant - Surgery - Cardiovascular & Thoracic Needed in MO

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery Physician Assistant for a 1-day assignment in Missouri, starting May 25, 2026. This role involves 0600-1830 shifts, focusing on both operating room and clinic responsibilities. The Physician Assistant will be crucial in assisting with complex cardiac procedures, managing pre and post-operative care, and performing endovascular vein harvesting with a high degree of proficiency.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform operating room and clinic responsibilities.
• Assist in the clinic for 4 hours daily, focusing on support rather than direct patient appointments.
• Demonstrate critical proficiency in Endovascular Vein Harvesting (EVH), aiming for harvest times between 45 to 60 minutes.
• Preference for radial vein harvesting.
• Assist in ECMO cannulations.
• Participate in a variety of cases including Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG), Aortic dissection, and Impella placement and removal.
• Manage pre and post-operative patient care, including ECMO.
• Work within an on-site clinic, connected to the hospital, seeing 4-9 patients per day in the consult clinic.
• Responsible for documentation within the clinic setting.
• Provide solo coverage on weekends with attending physician available.
