We are seeking a Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery Physician Assistant for a 16-week locum tenens assignment in Ohio, starting Jan 5, 2026. This role features day shifts from 7a-5p with a rotating call schedule. Responsibilities include rounding, first assist, and vein harvesting for adult patients in a dynamic surgical environment.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Perform rounding on cardiovascular and thoracic surgery patients
  • Act as first assist in surgical procedures
  • Conduct vein harvesting during surgical cases
  • Participate in a rotating call schedule
  • Utilize Maquet Hemopro 2 device as required
  • Document and manage patient information using Epic EMR

Additional Information
  • NCCPA certification required
  • Must be licensed as a Physician Assistant in Ohio
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required
  • Recent experience with Maquet Hemopro 2 is essential
  • Estimated credentialing period is 2-3 weeks
