Job Description

We are seeking a Cardiovascular & Thoracic Physician Assistant for a 14-day assignment in Ohio, beginning Jun 1, 2026. This role features 12-hour shifts, encompassing night call or day rounding (7am-5pm or 6pm-6am). Responsibilities involve managing routine cardiothoracic cases such as CABG, valve procedures, complex aorta, lobectomies, and VATS, with occasional ECMO involvement.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Handle 12-hour night call or day rounding shifts.
  • Work shifts including 7am-5pm rounding or 6pm-6am call.
  • Maintain a 30-minute response time from the hospital during call shifts; accommodation provided if not local.
  • Respond to approximately 7% of calls, with most manageable by phone, and an expectation of being called in about once every ten shifts.
  • Manage routine cardiothoracic cases, including CABG, valve procedures, complex aorta, lobectomy cases, and VATS.
  • Provide care for occasional ECMO patients, without involvement in advanced heart failure, VAD, or transplant cases.
  • Perform vein harvesting, utilizing endoscopic techniques with Maquet Hemopro 2.
