Job Description

We are seeking a Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant for a locum tenens assignment in Pennsylvania. This full-time opportunity begins Nov 1, 2025, lasts 30 days, and features 3x12 hour in-house day shifts (6am-6pm) with call coverage from 6pm-6:30am, including weekend calls. Candidates must be board certified or board eligible in Cardiothoracic Surgery and hold current ACLS and BLS certifications. Applicants must be available Monday through Friday, with guaranteed hours and some flexibility in coverage dates.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Assist in the management of patients requiring cardiovascular and thoracic surgical care
  • Participate in surgical procedures and perioperative patient management
  • Provide in-house coverage during scheduled shifts and respond to emergencies as needed
  • Take call on a rotating schedule, including weekend call
  • Collaborate with surgeons, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care
  • Complete all required clinical documentation and adhere to hospital protocols

Additional Information
  • Must be board certified or board eligible in Cardiothoracic Surgery
  • Active Physician Assistant license in Pennsylvania required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required
  • Temporary privileges are approved for this assignment
