Job Description

We are seeking a Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery Physician Assistant for a 68-day locum tenens assignment in Pennsylvania. This opportunity begins on Mar 16, 2026, and offers a blend of mostly OR work with some ICU floor responsibilities. The schedule features three 12-hour shifts per week, with additional call requirements on nights and weekends.

  • Schedule: Regular shifts are 6am-6pm three days per week; call is 6pm-6:30am with weekend call from Friday 6pm through Monday 6:30am (call is from home, not in-house); not a PRN position


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide surgical assistance in the operating room, primarily supporting cardiovascular and thoracic cases
  • Deliver patient care in the ICU, including assessments and management as needed
  • Participate in call coverage for nights and weekends as scheduled
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team in a Trauma setting
  • Ensure compliance with all facility protocols and standards
  • Utilize clinical judgment to deliver high-quality care to adult patients


Additional Information

  • Must hold current Physician Assistant licensure in Pennsylvania
  • Board certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required
  • Candidates must be either board certified or board eligible
