Job Description

We are seeking a Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery Physician Assistant for a 90-day locum tenens assignment in Virginia, starting on Sep 8, 2025. This role involves a typical work week from Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with additional on-call responsibilities during the week and weekends on a rotational basis. The ideal candidate will be experienced in cardiothoracic surgery first assists and proficient with the Epic EMR system.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Assist in cardiothoracic surgical procedures
  • Provide pre-operative and post-operative care
  • Manage patient care in collaboration with the cardiothoracic surgery team
  • Participate in the on-call rotation for emergency surgeries and patient care
  • Maintain detailed patient records using Epic EMR

Additional Information
  • Required Board Certification: Cardiothoracic Surgery
  • Must hold a valid Virginia PA license
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
  • Demonstrated experience as a first assist in cardiothoracic surgery preferred
