Locum Tenens Physician - Surgery - Cardiovascular & Thoracic Needed in CA

Job Description

We are seeking a Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery Physician in California for a 60-day assignment beginning May 4, 2026. This role centers on assisting a Cardiovascular & Thoracic surgeon with heart cases, involving a range of surgical procedures during 8-hour shifts. Responsibilities will include performing chest wall/pleural procedures, chest tube insertion, and central line placement, with approximately two patient encounters per shift, focusing entirely on surgical duties.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide first assist to the Cardiovascular & Thoracic (CVT) surgeon on heart cases.
• Perform required procedures including chest wall/pleural procedures, chest tube insertion, central line insertion, and PA Catheter placement.
• Apply required skills in General Surgery for adult, pediatric, neonate, and trauma cases.
• Manage cases involving gastroschisis.
• Address approximately 2 patient encounters per shift.
