Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Critical Care Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens assignment in Ohio. This role starts on Jan 5, 2026, and spans 130 days, with day shifts available Monday through Friday or a flexible four-day schedule. The ideal candidate will bring at least two years of current CVICU experience and be adept at providing advanced post-operative cardiac surgery ICU care.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide post-operative care for cardiac surgery patients in an ICU
  • Collaborate with cardiac surgeons, thoracic surgeons, ICU attendings, and residents
  • Manage a daily census of 4-8 patients, with less than one surgery per day on average
  • Perform required procedures: central line placement, atrial line placement, chest tube removal, pacer wire removal


Additional Information

  • Active Ohio nurse practitioner license required
  • Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (ACNP-BC) required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
  • Recent experience working in CVICU strongly preferred
