Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Critical Care Physician Assistant for a locum tenens opportunity in New Mexico. This assignment begins on Mar 9, 2026, with a duration of 84 days, working 7p-7a night shifts on a 7 on / 7 off schedule. The provider will manage the MICU and must be skilled in procedures such as Swan-Ganz catheter management, central line placement, intubation, vascular catheters, and arterial lines. This role is ideal for a PA comfortable working independently in a high-acuity environment.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Manage the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) during night shifts
  • Oversee critically ill patients and respond to emergent situations
  • Place and manage Swan-Ganz catheters
  • Perform central line placements, intubations, vascular catheterizations, and arterial line insertions
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care

Additional Information
  • Active Physician Assistant license in New Mexico required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required
  • Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (ACNP-BC) preferred
  • Previous experience in a critical care setting highly desirable
