Job Description

We are seeking a Critical Care Medicine Physician Assistant for a 130-day locum tenens assignment in Ohio, starting Jan 5, 2026. This role offers a flexible weekday schedule with options for five 8-hour shifts (8am-4pm) or four 10-hour shifts in a Cardiac Surgery ICU.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide post-operative cardiac surgery ICU care for stepdown patients
  • Collaborate with cardiac surgeons, thoracic surgeons, ICU attendings, and residents
  • Manage an average daily census of 4-8 patients, with less than one surgery per day
  • Perform procedures including central line placement, atrial line placement, chest tube removal, and pacer wire removal
  • Deliver care in an ICU environment


Additional Information

  • Active Ohio license required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
  • Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (ACNP-BC) required
  • Minimum 2 years of current CVICU experience preferred
  • No operating room time required
