Job Description

We are seeking a Critical Care Physician Assistant for a locum tenens opportunity in Virginia. This assignment begins on Apr 6, 2026, and lasts 84 days, with a flexible schedule of 7-14 shifts per month. Candidates must be open to both day (7a-7p) and night (7p-7a) shifts in a Neuro/Surgical/Medical ICU with a strong neuro focus.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide care for patients in a Neuro/Surgical/Medical ICU (with a heavy neuro focus)
• Independently manage beds in one unit, with intensivist back-up available on-call and in-house support during scheduled hours
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary ICU teams to ensure high-quality patient care
• Respond to emergent neurological, surgical, and medical critical care needs
• Maintain thorough and accurate clinical documentation
• Adhere to required safety and best practice protocols

Additional Information

• Active Virginia PA license required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Emergency Neurological Life Support (ENLS) certifications required
• Candidates must be comfortable working independently within a critical care setting
• Open to both day and night shifts as scheduled
• Experience with neurocritical care cases strongly preferred
