 Barton Associates is seeking a highly skilled Dentist specializing in Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) disorders for a 120-day locum tenens assignment at a hospital in California. Starting on 12/01/2025, this position requires coverage from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in TMJ treatments, including injections, trigger point therapy, and managing jaw pain. This role focuses exclusively on TMJ cases referred by the hospital's Head and Neck Surgery department, requiring expertise in differentiating between muscular and joint pain, and creating appropriate treatment plans. The position involves working with new patients only, without traditional dental procedures. Proficiency in Epic EMR is required, and there is potential for assignment extension.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Evaluate and treat patients referred for TMJ disorders

• Perform TMJ injections and trigger point therapy

• Assess and differentiate between muscular and joint-related jaw pain

• Develop and implement treatment plans for TMJ patients

• Prescribe and fit bite guards for Head and Neck Surgery patients

• Collaborate with the Head and Neck Surgery department

• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in Epic EMR

• Provide expert consultation on complex TMJ cases

• Stay updated on the latest TMJ treatment techniques and research
