Job Description

We are seeking an Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens assignment in North Carolina. This three-day opportunity begins Dec 24, 2025, and features 12-hour and 9-hour shifts over the holiday period. Candidates should have recent ER experience in similar size facilities and hold current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications. The assignment will utilize the Epic EMR system.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Provide acute care to patients presenting in the emergency department
  • Perform patient assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and initiate treatment plans
  • Stabilize and manage emergent cases in collaboration with other ER staff
  • Document patient encounters in Epic EMR
  • Adhere to established protocols and clinical guidelines
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members

Additional Information
  • Must be licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in North Carolina
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required
  • Recent ER experience in similar size facilities strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with Epic EMR
