Locum Tenens Physician Assistant - Emergency Medicine Needed in CA

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant for a 7-day assignment with our client in California, starting Feb 15, 2026. This role involves working independently across various shifts including day and night options, managing a diverse caseload of low acuity emergency room patients and fast track urgent care cases.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Work independent of MD supervision.
• See low acuity ER patients with conditions such as chest pain and undifferentiated abdominal pain.
• Perform pelvic exams.
• Manage occasional vertical 3 patients.
• Handle fast track urgent care cases including lacerations, eye exams (utilizing slit lamps), and headaches.
• Provide authorization to technicians for performing splints.

Additional Information

• Emergency Medicine Board Certification required.
• EMR: Epic
• Shift hours: 7 AM - 7 PM, 7 AM - 5 PM, or 7 PM - 2 AM for nights.
